About us 

Clear Dental Academy started in 2019 when we began to deliver the NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing in Belfast. Our Tutors have a wealth of knowledge and experience covering many aspects of dentistry. The course is delivered in our modern new premises in a convenient Belfast location. Clear Dental operate multiple Dental Practices across Northern Ireland, therefore students have the opportunity to gain experience of a range of treatments and services that are delivered to our patients. Our pass rate is ranked one of the highest in the UK. 

We also offer additional CPD courses for all Dental Care Professionals. 

About the Diploma in Dental Nursing 

The NEBDN National Diploma in Dental Nursing is a General Dental Council (GDC) recognised dental nursing qualification which covers all outcomes described within the GDC Preparing to Practice document. It sets out the knowledge, skills and behavioural requirements that should be developed and demonstrated. These are set out in terms of competencies to meet with the assessment methods in the final examinations.

How long will it take to complete?

The Diploma takes approximately 14 months to complete. 

The skills you will gain upon completion of the qualification are described within the extensive curriculum under the domains of Clinical, Communication, Professionalism and Management and Leadership.

The qualification comprises of a formative workplace assessment – the Record of Experience, which enables the workplace team to become an integral part of the training of the trainee Dental Nurse.

The summative assessment comprises a written and practical component aimed at assessing knowledge and decision making to demonstrate trainee Dental Nurses’ understanding and competence. The summative assessment also adheres to current educational best practice.

Attendance – One evening per week 6.30pm to 9.00pm
